About
The American Society of Professional Estimators began in 1956 in the Los Angeles area. The organization was started by several individuals that felt that the construction industry did little to provide consistency, proficiency and professionalism in the estimating and consulting fields. ASPE was created with dedication and commitment to the idea of providing its members with the following benefits:
- A professional society promoting the highest standards and ethics in the practice of construction estimating.
- Continuing education through seminars and lectures on construction related topics. The official publication of The American Society of Professional Estimators – “Estimating Today” is published on a monthly basis, to the membership, and contains articles on current construction trends, bidding methods, national news, membership news, and member’s articles and contributions.
- An opportunity to become recognized as a Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) through the completion of the training and testing program. (upon completion of the program you are entitled to place the CPE designation after your name and can purchase a CPE certification stamp to use on all your official documents)
- A means of communicating, on a local and national level, with fellow construction professionals on a monthly basis locally and annually at the national convention providing an opportunity to exchange product and method information and gain professional recognition for you and your company. (our local chapter has meetings once each month, September through May including an annual scholarship golf outing)
